About Zhangjiajie Guide

We are an independent travel resource, built by people who have spent years exploring China's national parks. No booking fees, no sponsored listings — just honest, practical information.

Who We Are

Zhangjiajie Guide was started in 2026 by a small team of travel writers and photographers who share a deep fascination with China's sandstone landscapes. Between us, we have made over 20 trips to Zhangjiajie across every season — from the misty spring mornings to the snow-dusted winter pillars.

We noticed something frustrating: most English-language information about Zhangjiajie comes from tour operators trying to sell packages, or from quick-visit bloggers who spent 48 hours at the park. There was no single resource that told you what you actually need to know — the real bus routes, the unmarked trails, the ticket tricks that save you money, which viewpoints clear out after 3 PM.

So we built one.

How We Research

Every piece of information on this site comes from one of three sources:

First-hand visits

We walk the trails, ride the cable cars, time the bus routes, and stay at the guesthouses ourselves. Ticket prices and transport times are verified in person, not scraped from other websites.

Official sources

We cross-reference against official park announcements, government transport schedules, and UNESCO documentation. When prices change, we update within the same week.

Traveler feedback

We incorporate real experiences from fellow travelers — the things guidebooks never mention, like which entrance has the shortest queue on a Sunday morning.

Our Commitment

No booking fees. We do not sell tickets, book hotels, or take commissions on anything we recommend. This site is funded entirely out of pocket. If we ever add affiliate links, they will be clearly labeled.

Always up to date. China's tourism infrastructure changes fast — new high-speed rail lines, updated ticket policies, seasonal closures. We update our content continuously. Every page shows when it was last reviewed.

Honest about what we don't know. If a trail was closed when we visited or a price is unverified, we say so. Better to flag a gap than to guess.
